Yves Saint Laurent, the museum
The Yves Saint Laurent Museum opened its doors in Paris as well as in Marrakech.
The Parisian museum is located in Yves Saint Laurent’s historical couture house, avenue Marceau. This house has seen the birth of his creations for over 30 years and then the Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent foundation.
The foundation asked for the help of the scenograph Nathalie Crinière and the interior designer Jacques Grange in order to double the superficies of exhibition and reproduce the ambiance of the house. Thanks to this collaboration, the haute couture rooms and the creation studio of Yves Saint Laurent are integrated to the visit in order to feel the universe of the designer.
With the opening of these two museums, the 5 000 pieces of clothing, the 15 000 accessories and the thousands of drawings, photographs and other document that belong to the foundation will finally be revealed to the public.
