Dior, a journey in the haute couture world

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the presigious brand Christian Dior, the Arts Décoratifs museum offers a rich exhibition that highlights the famous deisgner’s creations along his career as well as his six well known artistic directors: Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, Raf Simons and more recently Maria Grazia Chiuri.
Since 1974, numerous iconic items have made an impression. Over 300 dresses are exposed as well as various little known documents such as illustrations, sketches, photographs, letters and manuscripts and advertising documents. You will also find objects like hats, jewelry, handbags, shoes, perfume bottles and other marvels retracing the evolution of the brand.
Christian Dior was passionate about art and museum, it is therefore in a natural way that his creations are mixed with the museum’s art collection.
These works underline and extends Christian Dior’s look, observing the links he has created with couture and other art forms, defining the print of the haute couture brand.
The journey is constructed in a chronological and thematic way, gathering for the first time the spaces dedicated to fashion as well as the one under the museum’s nave, namely almost 3000 square meters.
